I have learned that life comes in seasons. We need to embrace our present season, receive grace for it, and realize it will not last forever. The Scriptures tell us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…He has made everything beautiful in its time.” (Ecc. 3:1&11)

God has a plan and a purpose to make your life beautiful and amazing. But he has each of us in His process. We cannot see the scope of God’s work from beginning to end. We are too short sighted. I once read the story of a boy watching a parade from a hole in the fence. He only saw a small bit of the parade at a time. But if he could get into a helicopter that flew over the parade, he would see the entire parade. We see one small season of life at a time, but God sees it all.

In tough times where health, money, friends, marriage, family, ministry or job are not looking good, we may wonder what is going on. But God is making us beautiful and amazing in His time in the midst of the trials. I have also found during the tough seasons, I grow the most. So let’s embrace our present season and receive grace to grow in the character of Christ, trusting completely in Him. Our God is good. This is His character.
