A man of God once wrote, “The holiday is called Thanksgiving…not Thanks-feeling.” Giving thanks is something we give, not always something we feel. But I feel really grateful right now.

This past year 2011 has been a pretty tough year for us… LaVerne’s mother passed on to be with the Lord in February, my dad went to be with the Lord on Father’s Day in June, we had flood damage in the basement of our house in September, and we had a fire in our garage with smoke damage throughout our house a few days ago. But I have so much to be thankful for.

I am thankful for Jesus and for the cross, for my beautiful godly wife, for four amazing children and son-in-law and three fantastic grandchildren. I work and serve each day alongside a fantastic team of leaders who love Jesus with a passion and are men and women of integrity and anointing. And I am thankful for you, for taking the time to read this blog.

God is pretty clear about this thanksgiving thing…He says, “In all things give thanks, this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (I Thess. 5:18).

Have a blessed Thanksgiving. And don’t forget to give thanks!
