Do you need a breakthrough today? Or does someone you love need a breakthrough? King David once said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” (II Sam 5:20) Our God is the God of breakthrough!
Breakthroughs usually come in two ways. First, those who personally persevere in prayer and believe the promises of the Word of God receive personal breakthroughs. And secondly, we can pray for a breakthrough in the lives of others. Jesus told Peter, “Satan has desired to have you to sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you.” And Peter got his breakthrough at Pentecost!
Regardless of what you are facing today, remember, our God is just waiting for someone to believe Him to experience breakthrough. As I look back over my life, I have been blessed with breakthroughs again and again; spiritual breakthroughs, breakthroughs in mental and physical health, breakthroughs from condemnation, relational breakthroughs, and financial breakthroughs.
The first step to experiencing a breakthrough is to admit we need one. Secondly, we must believe a breakthrough is God’s agenda for us. That is why reading scriptural accounts of breakthroughs and hearing testimonies of God’s faithfulness is so important. It builds our faith. And thirdly, when we pray for breakthrough in accordance with God’s Word, we can know it is on its way. We persevere and refuse to quit until we experience the breakthrough. Daniel fasted and prayed for twenty-one days until the angel Gabriel came and told him he was sent when Daniel started praying twenty-one days earlier (Dan. 9). Praise God Daniel did not quit. He experienced breakthrough.
I prayed with a man today who needs a breakthrough in his life. His breakthrough is on the way! And today is your day for a breakthrough.
