Zig Ziglar once said: “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing. That’s why we recommend it daily.” For inspiration, check out these 7 ways to get motivated each day.

– Have a purpose greater than yourself. That’s why it’s important to have a close relationship with God. He runs the entire universe and invites you to help him do it! He has come that we may have life…abundantly (John 10:10)! God places dreams deep within our hearts that motivate and energize us.

– Seek out people who are motivated and inspiring. Avoid spending more time than necessary with people who are always complaining and blaming everyone else for their problems. Remember, you become like the people with whom you spend most of your time.

– Read books that inspire and motivate you. Biographies are some of the best! Charlie “Tremendous” Jones once said, “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

– Ask yourself, “If money was not an issue, what should I be doing with my life in five years?” Then set some goals and ask God to open doors for you to move in the direction of fulfilling your God-given purpose and dream.

– “Look in the mirror” and see how God has wired you. Then daily do something that fits with your personal call and temperament. If you do not know how you are wired, ask those closest to you. Sometimes family and friends know us better than we know ourselves. I am wired to write. I take time every week to write, and this energizes me. My father saw this gift in me long before I ever started writing.

– Take time to dream. A day away alone or taking a long walk to think and meditate can do amazing things for us and motivate us towards our God-given destiny. God speaks to us when we are still (Psalm 46:10).

– Start by taking one small step. Don’t wait for someone else to motivate you. Today, take that first step toward motivation that will fulfill your dream from God.
