Someone once said, “Doing the most important thing is always the most important thing.” I have found that those who are successful in life work from a clear sense of priority. Paul the apostle said it like this, “This one thing I do…” (Phil. 3:13).

To achieve extraordinary results, we must choose what matters most and give it all the time it demands. This may require us to get out of balance in relation to other areas of life for a season. When I was a young man, a wise pastor exhorted me to not be afraid of getting off balance. He told me that every time I take a step, I am off balance. But without taking a step, I will go nowhere.

Is there one thing God is calling you to focus on today? A wise man once said, “Extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus.” Success is built sequentially. It’s one thing at a time. What does the Lord desire for you to focus on today?
