Harry Ironside once said, “We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.” Paul the apostle exhorted us to give thanks in all things. In America, our forefathers set apart a special day for giving thanks, making Thanksgiving a national holiday. But let us be careful to take this admonition from E.P. Powell, “Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude.”
