It is so important to refuse to compare ourselves with others. Whenever I feel like I am doing better than others, I fall into pride. When I feel like I am doing worse than others, I end up with feelings of inferiority. When we compare ourselves to others, the scriptures tell us we are unwise (II Cor. 10:12). Neither pride or inferiority are grace-filled responses. Remember the grape-picking laborers in Matthew chapter 20? They complained and wondered why everyone got paid the same for varying hours of labor. They compared themselves to others because they did not understand the grace of God. Grace, His divine favor, is an amazing gift from God! The next time you are tempted to compare, receive grace and experience divine favor.
Comparing is not wise
