Today, millions of believers worldwide experienced the underground church. Forty years ago, I heard the Lord say, “Are you willing to be involved in the underground church?” The underground church is the part of the church that meets in small groups in homes. The church in the book of Acts met underground, representative of the root system of the church. In Acts 20:20, Paul taught the believers publicly and from house to house. The New Testament church met in relational small groups and made disciples “underground” from house to house and met in public gatherings as well. Our tradition has told us our Sunday morning church services are the most important part of a local church, but we have found the church meeting in homes “underground” is often the place where we experience the most spiritual growth as we each use our spiritual gifts. God is calling His church back to experiencing the underground church we see modeled in the book of Acts.
