It was the first day of the Green Bay Packers football team training camp in 1961.  The team arrived to start a brand-new season after losing the championship the year before. Their famous coach, Vince Lombardi, shocked the team as he started with the most elemental statement. “Gentlemen,” he said, holding a pigskin in his right hand, ‘this is a football.’”

For over fifty years I have had the privilege of serving in Christian leadership. And I find one of the most important things I get to do is help establish a solid foundation from God’s Word in people’s lives. We must constantly go back to the basics. With a strong foundation on the rock of Christ and His Word, we will be able to stand in faith, even when storms of life are raging.

Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. (Matthew 7:24-25)

I have now completed recording on video 365 days-worth of teaching on the basics of Christianity, one for each day next year. Three minutes a day, absolutely free. Sign up to get an email with instructions so you are ready to join me on January 1, 2021. Sign up at dcfi.org/devos/
