When I was a new believer, I had often read the verse from John 10:10: “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (NASB). I knew this verse of Scripture to be true; but one day it became alive to me. I realized that God actually wanted me to experience His abundance in my life! My outlook changed from that day on. It was amazing! Another time, I felt completely overwhelmed with life. I felt overloaded and fatigued with my job, the ministry I was involved in, and with family financial struggles. I remember jumping into my car in response to a call from a friend who needed a ride, and on the way, I felt completely despondent. Then a Scripture came to my mind—a verse I had memorized a few months before: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:20). The words “Christ lives in me” literally stimulated me. I realized that Jesus Christ actually lives inside of me! Within a few minutes, my entire disposition began to change. I regained strength to go on. I felt like a whole new person. God’s Word came alive in me. God spoke to me through His Word. Expect the Word of God to come alive to you today!
