Twenty-five years ago, during a personal time with God, I felt an impression from the Lord that a man from Japan was coming to help me. I wrote this in my journal. Nearly every day for many years, I asked God for a “man from Japan” to come into my life. More than 10 years later, I was sitting in a restaurant with a new friend from Colorado, who leaned across the table and told me, “I am that man.” His ancestry was Japanese, and he has become a close friend who has helped me numerous times in strategic ways during the past 15 years. I am so glad I wrote this impression in my journal, or I might have forgotten it and never experienced the fulfillment of this insight from God. Cultivating an ever-deepening relationship with the Lord through journaling helps us focus the eyes of our heart on God and receive fresh words from Him each day. “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets. . . . For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” (Hab. 2:2-3)
