St. Augustine of Hippo once said, “He who sings, prays twice.” When we sing and praise God from the heart, something happens. Our song and posture of praise help us see and understand God in a deeper way! We take our eyes off of our circumstances and put them on the Creator of all things. We place ourselves in a position to hear from Him. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people (Ps. 22:3). God “lives” in the atmosphere of His praise. Said another way, praise brings us into the presence and power of God. Praise (and thanksgiving) is the “password” that allows us to come before Him.

A good thought to have my “joyful noise” be a prayer. Thanks!
