God is restoring the fear of the Lord to his people today. The scriptures tell us in Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” That’s where it all starts. So, what does it mean to fear the Lord? To fear the Lord means to be in awe of God and to reverence Him. He is our loving Heavenly Father, and He does not want us to be afraid of Him. Our Father in heaven loves us perfectly. He wants the best for our lives as we honor and respect Him. God’s Word tells us that “perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). In other words, where there is God’s perfect love, fear cannot dwell. If we love, honor and respect our God, we will want to obey Him. Let’s ask the Lord to give us grace to experience the fear of the Lord today.
