We need to know we are called by God to serve in any role of leadership. The Scriptures teach us, “…Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you (Col. 4:17).” Otherwise, when the going gets tough, we will probably doubt ourselves and question our decisions. Bear in mind, if someone talked you into a position of leadership or a direction you are taking in life, someone else can talk you out of it. We must not only know we are called, but we must be secure in the fact that we are loved and called by God to carry out the responsibility. Discovering who we are means we let go of the person that we, or others, think we are, and instead we focus on becoming the person that Jesus wants us to be.
