Steps to Salvation
God loves you and wants to have an eternal friendship with you. How can you build this personal relationship?
Recognize you are a sinner
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Tell God you are sorry for your sin
“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret…” (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Confess and put away your sin
“He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).
Receive forgiveness for your sin
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18).
Receive the Lord Jesus Christ
“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
Sincerely pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I choose to stop trusting in myself and what I can do. I know that I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive me and I receive You into my life as my Savior and Lord. I repent and turn away from everything Your Word calls sin. Thank you, Jesus, for Your precious blood that washes all my sins away and for the power of the Holy Spirit to help me live a life that is pleasing to You from this day forward.
Walk in faith
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Now that you are a new believer, you are a part of God’s family. God is your Father and all other believers are your brothers and sisters. Our Father’s plan is for you to be surrounded by the loving care of a local church so you can grow and fulfill God’s call on your life.
