I don’t always feel like praising God. But praising the Lord is not dependent upon my emotions; it’s a decision I make. As we come to the Lord in faith each day, we are offering to Him a sacrifice of praise. “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise…” (Heb. 13:15). With our sacrifice of praise, we establish intimacy with Him. We are telling God that we know He is in control of our circumstances. Remember, all things work together for good to those who love God (Rom. 8:28). Offering a sacrifice of praise is talking to yourself as you talk to God. Let’s be like David, who talked to himself; he “encouraged himself in the Lord” (1 Sam. 30:6). David told his soul to give praise to the Lord: “Praise the Lord, O my soul…” (Ps. 103:1). Join me in offering a sacrifice of praise to God today and experience a fresh intimacy with Him.
