Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Take Job for example. Most of his life he was experiencing good seasons of God’s blessing. But Job is usually remembered for the terrible time of loss and oppression that he faced. Yet Job was a righteous man. So do not assume that you are worse than others, or that have done something wrong, if you are going through a time of disappointment or pain.

And don’t fall into the trap of reading too much into negative things that may be happening in your life. Obviously, there are times we can be more vulnerable to the enemy if we are not drawing close to the Lord. But in many cases, hard and confusing things in life just happen. There is no real reason. So be careful to not change what you believe because of a difficult season you presently find yourself in. Remember, God is always good! And the Word of God is still truth, regardless of your present season or situation. So let’s cling to the promise of God from John 8:31 & 32, “If we continue in His Word, we are His disciples, and we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free!
