We are hanging out at the beach with our family this week. The annual beach vacation is great fun every year! But it hit me this morning … we are in an enjoyable season at this stage. I remember some previous seasons of dragging all kinds of paraphernalia and crying babies to the beach … seasons with teenagers going through teenage stuff … but now, life is so relaxing. Despite the hard seasons, I learned a ton. I would not trade those tough times for anything else!

Our vacations remind me of the seasons of life. I offer this perspective to you: Regardless of what you are going through, remember, it is just for a season. If you are in an exciting spring season in your life, family, ministry or business, filled with fresh vision and blessing, enjoy it and make the most of it. If you are in a summer season of hard work and harvest, learn all you can. Relish it.

Or if you are in a fall season when things in your life seem to be closing down around you … or a winter season when you feel like life is a cold drudge through the wilderness … keep trusting in the One who created all seasons. Learn all you can in the season you are in. Don’t waste your season. What you learn in the dark will help you live in the light.

In rough seasons we are being equipped to encourage others experiencing similar difficult times. God may be preparing us for seasons we will walk through in the future. Remember, He is faithful!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 11 tell us clearly: “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven …. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.”

Find something of beauty in the time and season you are in. Remember, it is only for a season. Allow the God of the seasons to prepare you for the great plans He has for you.
