The Bible is God’s personal love letter to us. From it, He speaks to us, directs us and molds us for His purposes and plans. In every generation, the Bible has been viewed as a source to understand the world we live in and the reason for our existence. True followers of Jesus read the Bible with the expectation that God will speak through its words. The Bible must be the first and last word in our lives; it is our ultimate authority, the gauge with which to measure the direction of our life. We certainly will not understand everything we read, but we will find life and peace in obeying what we do understand. Remember, the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever (Deut. 29:29).
